Precision glass windows-BK7 type (λ/4)

These Precision Glass Windows are optically-polished with parallel faces and are useful not only as windows but as substrates for special beamsplitters etc. These Precision Glass Windows are offered uncoated, AR-coated for ranges covering both visible and NIR (450-900nm). As these windows have parallel faces they are ideal for applications that require minimal transmitted beam deviation.

Borosilicate windows

Low-expansion Borosilicate (LEGB) Windows are very suitable for windows, because borosilicate glass has excellent chemical and thermal-shock resistance. We offer both 1.1mm windows made by the float process for general purpose applications and two grades of polished window, either λ/4 orλ/2 for more precision applications.

Quartz windows (λ/2)

These Quartz Windows are in (Vitreosil or equivalent) and usable down in the UV. They have excellent chemical and radiation resistance, and are usable up to 1050°C. For deep UV applications UV Grade Fused Silica is also available, which is listed both coated and with a multiplayer AR-coating for 248-400nm.

Sapphire windows (2.5 λ)

Sapphire is an excellent material for windows, combining outstanding hardness, high thermal conductivity properties with an extremely wide transmission range from 170nm to 5.3 microns. It is often used for pressure windows, being approximately five times stronger than glass, and can be used at temperatures up to 2000°c. As sapphire has such hard structural strength, Sapphire Windows can be made much thinner than other materials, which can be useful.

White float windows

Float glass windows are a cheap source as a protective element between two environments. They are cut from sheet glass that is relatively flat and parallel for most purposes. As no polishing is required they are cost effective. Float glass is now listed down to 1.1mm thick (thinner to order) and the 'white' grade used for the thicker windows has much less green coloration than common soda float glass. Polished grade (λ/2) White Float Window is also listed for more precision applications.

AR-coated windows are also listed for improved efficiency; the single-sided type can be used for laminating. Also listed are Indium Tin Oxide (ITO) coated windows which is used for displays, electric heating, EMI shielding etc.

UV-fused silica windows (λ/2)

These Fused-silica Windows are in UV grade material (Spectrosil B or equivalent) and usable down to 170nm. They have excellent chemical and radiation resistance, and are usable up to 1050°C, and have very low fluorescence. They are listed both coated and with a multiplayer AR-coating for 248-400nm.
